Digital Loray was produced by the Digital Innovation Lab at UNC-Chapel Hill, in collaboration with community members and cultural organizations in the city of Gastonia and Gaston County. This work is facilitated by the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center and supported by Preservation North Carolina. The project was made possible by a gift from Rick Kessell, in honor of his father, Alfred C. “Freddie” Kessell, and all those who worked in the mill. This project contributed to the creation of the Community Histories Workshop at UNC-Chapel Hill, which can be reached HERE.
