Black and white photo of Firestone Champion Farmers attending a banquet and show at the 1939 World’s Fair in NYC. attached flysheet: “on the evening of August 8, 1939, the Firestone Champion Farmers were entertained by a special floor show at a banquet in their honor given the Firestone Farm Gardens of the Firestone Factory and Exhibition Building at the New York World’s Fair. The famous Firestone Singing Color Fountains formed a beautiful background for the banquet. Grover Whalen, President of the New York World’s Fair, Leonard K. Firestone, who acted as host, and many other prominent men in the field of agriculture spoke during the program. Bronze medallions were awarded to all of the Firestone Champion Farmers in recognition of their distinguished services to agriculture.”
